 Nowadays,general public are pondering the main function of university without a conclusion.Some people think universities should provide practical knowledge rather than theoretic thesis,but others deny.From a personal viewpoint,the higher education should take the both sides into consideration.

 To begin with,students who received professional education in the universities have more superiority in the competitive society.On the one hand,these student usually get appreciation by employers because they are well-trained and proficient in their field. That could help company save a large mount of expenditure for training these new-comers.On the other hand,what students learned in universities laid a solid foundation for their career development.Compared to those who lack of professional cognition,they are more likely to work with colleagues effectively and get promotion quickly.In conclusion,students with practical knowledge not only tend to achieve individual values in their career path, but make a great contribution to the society.That is exactly the goal of the higher education.

 However,others think students should focus on the theoretical education in universities as a basis for further progress.For example,although logical lessons cannot provide financial knowledge for students in a direct way,these logical exercise could be helpful to improve students’ calculation skill and critical thinking skills when faced with complex financial issues.It can be seen from this example that theoretical education provides the most fundamental principles for student’s academic performance,which is easily neglected but never should be completely replaced by the professional courses.

 To sum up,I think universities should provide practical and theoretical curriculum for students in a appropriate proportion in order to prepare them better for the future employment.
