This chart shows that the degradation of agricultural land during the 1990s. There are 3 main causes of it, including deforestation, over-cultivation, over-grazing and other cause.

As we can see , over-grazing is the largest cause of degradation in the world, it is in proportion of 35%, while there is also the most serious problem in Oceania. It takes 11.3% in over-grazing in the total land degraded in 13%. There is no over-cultivation problem and only have little deforestation problem. Besides, deforestation is the second large problem of degradation in the world. It is 5% less than over-grazing. In the meanwhile, Europe have the biggest problem in deforestation. What’s more, the total land degraded in Europe is 23%. It is almost 5 times higher than North America.

Last but not least, over-cultivation is also a major reason of degradation. It takes 28% in the world. I North America, although the total land degraded rates are only 5%, the over-cultivation is in proportion of 3.3%. The rest of it take 0.2% deforestation and 1.5%of over-grazing.

In conclusion, we should pay more attention to the over-grazing problem. Also we should preserve our forests from being destroyed.

A good personality is very significant to our society. There is a question about weather parents or school should teach children to be a good person. On one hand, parents are the first teachers for their children. They learn and feel things from their parents at the very first time. It has a great impact on children’s minds. On the other hands, children can learn much more things when they are at school. There are loads of resources for adolescents to study and learn how to be a good person.

As far as I am concerned, parents should teach their children how to be good members of our society. First and foremost, parents are definitely the first teachers for their children. When we born, we are facing the whole new world. Parents will be our tutor and they will lead us to learn. They will start to teach us speaking, walking and eating and so on. If children do not have a well-behavior teaching at the first time, or the parent do not teach them, they may become a bad guy. Because I believe that the first impaction makes a huge difference.

Secondly, I believe that children have a bad or good personality is depend on their parents. A father or mother not only the first teacher for their children, but also the tutor for them in their entirely life. A baby cannot distinguish which is right or wrong. It is parents that teach them how to judge and what should they do. When they grow up, parents still guide them how to do things and judge things. While school is only a part of their life.

Last but not least, children will be strange or have anti-social behavior without being teached by their parents. If a child only learns how to be a good person at school and his parents do not even care about him. This child must lake of love. It will have a direct effect on their heart and mind or even hurt them. This kind of children will do the wrong things to the society.

In conclusion, parent, the first teachers to children paly a significant role on teaching them to be a good person.
