Developments in science and technology have caused environment problems. Some people think that a simpler way of life will protect the environment, while others believe that science and technology can solve environmental problems. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Nowadays, there are increasing environmental problems including all kinds of pollution and greenhouse effect because of the developments in science and technology. It is clear that the science and technology in terms of the environment have their own benefits and shortage. However, in my honest opinion, the life without science and technology is better for environment preservation.

Individuals will have access to safeguard the environment if they live in a simpler way which means they live with less technological machines. The key reason may root in the fact that the technological machines like vehicles release pollutants into the environment. For instance, the emission of the toxic water is extremely bad for the field which may cause desertification and creatures living in the rivers and streams. Besides, the research and usage of the science and technology possibly give rise to the energy shortage. Because the majority of the energy we use currently is fossil fuel. As a result, the oil and pure water is not enough for our daily life. To be specific, numerous people in Africa can not drink clean water and the price of the oil is increasing dramatically because of insufficient supply.

However, some protesters insist that many ways of new energy will be created and drawn on to protect the environment via the development of science and technology in the near future. Based on my knowledge, there are definitely some renewable sources such as wind power and solar power, and these ways can save some energy. But, the fossil fuel we used and other pollution will make irremediable demage, some products which are non-degradable like plastics can even have an unfavorable influence on the earth for decades. Therefore, the technical and science ways of preserving environment can not make up the mistakes we made through the pollution.

 In conclusion, in order to protect the environment better, we should live in a simpler life instead of technology and science.
