Nowadays, there are controversial debates around whether the media should disclose the crime details to the public. There are negative impacts making me to agree with this topic. Even though there is a fraction of positivity about reporting the details.

First of all, this is the era of post truth. People read the news based on their emotion instead of the truth. If the media reports the crime like murdering or committing suicide with too many details, it generates negative emotional to the public. Especially there are many social media platforms nowadays, the details will go viral within a short period. The public, especially the youngster who are immature mentally, will stay in the dark side because of the crime details. For example, the children read about murdering details like the killing procedures or even the images of the dead body. They might think about the dark side too much. Moreover, they might stay negative and worried all the time. It is hard to get rid of the negative mindset.

Furthermore, reporting the crime details renders some of the public to imitate. No matter how serious of the crime, there is always some who wants to break the law. Especially gaining money. In these few years, there are many rackets trying to use the Blockchain techniques to establish a scam because of Bitcon. The Blockchain technology is difficult for Information Technology amateurs. The rackets exploit the lack of knowledge and the enormous profit about Blockchain. Asking the public to invest on their companies This kind of crime is increasing. One of the reasons of this situation that is some experts of this field imitate the illegal activities. Trying to make a huge profit by the scams.

By contrast, the pubic knows more details of crimes could increase the public awareness. People will take more care of their children if there is an increasing number of kidnapping. Likewise, knowing more details of crime render the public to observe the environment more to avoid being attacked. However, it is more important to let the public knowing the trends of crime instead of the details. The trend delivers the knowledge of the trendy crimes. Basically, it teaches the public to protect themselves.

To conclude, it is important to prevent the public not to imitate the crimes because of knowing too many details. Moreover, the media should learn to report the truth skillfully as the era of post truth. The public reads the news emotionally. It is essential to prevent spreading negativity. Besides, letting the public knows the trending of crimes is more important than the details.
