Write about the following topic:
Some people think that parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
You should write at least 250 words.

Children's education is more than just learning some basic skills and subjects. It concerns how to be a valuable person and contribute to the society in the future. Therefore, in my opinion, this task could only be achieved with the efforts of both parents and teachers.

  It is reasonable for some to believe schools are responsible to show the students how to behave in the society. After all, the government pays them to cultivate the new generation. However, most of the school curriculums don't include moral lessons. By this, I don't mean education in schools is meaningless. Subjects being taught in schools, such as maths and physics are fundamental for the ability of solving problems. But subjects on science are not adequate for comprehensive development of the students. They have to know how to obey the rules and share the values in the community.

  Being the first teachers of the students, parents are the ones who know the kids best. They also spend the longest time with their children which means they can correct the wrongs timely. What's important is that parents would pay more attention to the behaviour of the kids instead of academic performance, which is just the opposite in schools. They could teach what is right in person. For example, taking care of the old in the families gives lessons on caring. Children acquire the recognition that they should care for others and spread love in the society. Taking the kids to some banquets could also enrich their scope of knowledge on how to socialize.

  In conclusion, to nourish future successful social members demands efforts from both families and schools. Creating a good circumstance for the children both at home and schools should be encouraged.
