Because of the increasing trend of the globalization , a rising number of people migrate to foreign countries to settle down. However, it is sometimes said that living in foreign nations can lead to social problems and practical issues ,especially when you are not familiar with the foreign languages. I agree with this view,although living abroad can benefit us in some aspects.

living abroad may cause difficulties in social and practical aspects,mainly because immigrants find it hard for them to understand local languages when they are in a conversation with native speakers. They may have trouble in speaking a foreign language fluently. So in this situation, when they go downstairs to buy vegetables in the supermarkets or when they want to eat outside in the restaurants , they may fail to catch the advice of shopkeepers ,which could confuse or even depress them. At the same time ,because of their poor language skills, these people are likely to face the unemployments in foreign societies,which may lead to a higher unemployment rate in society.

Furthermore,people who fail to speak a prefect foreign language may face social and practical challenges because of the cultural gap between the immigrants and the locals. It may be extremely difficult for them to integrate into the local society. For example,when immigrants are going to celebrate their traditional festivals in restaurants,maybe the native restaurants cannot provide them with some traditional foods that they used to eat in home country. Such cultural disparity can be absolutely annoying to immigrants.Besides,this disparity may also result in culture shock to some degree,which may have a negative impact on the society.

On the other hand,immigrants may enjoy some benefits in foreign nations even though they are not proficient in foreign languages. For instance,they can enjoy better health and education services in the advanced society. They may get used to  the local lifestyles without reliance on foreign languages in the end.

To sum up,people who lack the ability to speak a fluent language may experience hardship when they are trying to live in a foreign country,although they can be accustomed to a foreign life finally.
