Some people say it is more important to plant trees in the open spaces in towns and cities than to build more housing. To what extant do you agree or disagree?

Recent years have saw a booming development in metropolitan areas, and it has become a hot debate on how to use the open spaces. In my point of view, I believe both approaches in the prompt can be appropriately implemented according to the city’s needs.

 It is undeniable that build housing in urban areas have numerous benefits to enumerate. The paramount one is that residential construction can promote economic growth. More housing means an increasing number of citizens in the area, guaranting more buying power, which directly facilitate economic development. Additionally, people in rural areas have more chances to migrate to cities, where they can find a job more headily, and thus improve their life quality.

An opposing view is that it is more momentous to build plantation in cities albeit housing is necessary. They argue that plants are strong defender against environmental degradation, which could promote city dwellers’ health in the long run. Moreover, trees are of great aesthetic value, not only enhance the image of the city but also attract more visitors.

From my own perspective, I believe we should weigh each teaching method upsides and choose them wisely instead of blindly following suit either of the opinions discussed. For example, for poor areas the government should prioritize housing to mitigate its problem while for big cities, where there’s always a dearth of fresh air, authorities take plants into consideration.
