Some people who have been in prison become good citizens later, some people think that they are the best people to talk to school students the danger of committing a crime. Do you agree or disagree?

Some people argue that those previous criminals who become law-abiding after the sentence execution are the best people to educate students to prevent students from conducting illegal contents. From my perspective, albeit with some merits, ex-prisoners are not the most suitable figures.

Admittedly, the contents delivered by former offenders who have served the prison sentence are convincible to children because of their personal experience in the harsh conditions. For example, if ex-prisoners talk about the seriousness of breaching the law, which leads to the prison life locked in ceils and away from friends, families and life luxuries for a long period, the awareness of avoiding unlawful misbehaviors can be raised for students.

However, I personally assume that police officers are better primed for crime education than former convicts. Compared with prisoners who only know the points about the crime they committed, police officers have insight to more various categories of crime because they have received professional training. For instance, while former thefts can only talk about the law concerning stealing, police officers can impart knowledge about a range of criminal behaviors such as robbery, sexual harassment, abusement or domestic violence.

Additionally, teachers are also better excel at teaching than ex-violators. Teachers acknowledge efficient teaching methods and techniques since they are qualified to deliver scientific educational methods. A case in point is that school teachers could combine criminal education with modern media facilities, a method appealing more to the youth. By contrast, ex-prisoners barely have teaching experiences and skills. They basically give lectures, which might be too tedious for children.

To sum up, though there are some advantages for ex-prisoners to teach students, other people such as police and teachers are more suitable for the process.
