how to be good members of society

Some people think parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others, however, believe that school is the place to learn this.

 Nowadays, there are two different opinions about whether it is good for children to be educated to be a qualified citizen in our society by parenting or schooling. From my perspective, children get access to gain more practical or useful experience in schools, therefore I suppose it is better to send young generations to school.

 The supporter of home education hold the view that parent are able to play an important role in teaching rules, ethical codes and specialized lessons in children’s life. They can set examples about how to be a good member of society. For example, they can tell their children what kind of things they can do such as obeying the traffic regulations, respecting old generations and friends. And also, parents can adjust suitable mythology for their children.

 However, all these things can not only put into practice at home, but also at school. Besides, when these young generations get into the school, they are formed with a well-rounded education, say, academic and non-academic subjects. They are able to be equipped with a large amount of new knowledge about mathematics, physics, history and son on. In addition, non-academic subjects can provide students with the ability of communication which they learn to tolerate some negative comments or confront some hardships, and skills of cooking, plan-making which cultivate them to be more independent. Parents, however, may not have well-organized system to teach children.

 In my opinion, apart from the advantages of school I have referred. School is also a good venue to develop team spirit and a strict code of conduct, which is extremely suitable for parents who are like to spoil their children to send their sons or daughters to school, to be educated to be an important member of society.
